This work was chosen from Adams’ The New West series in which he depicts the changing relationship between the built and natural environments during the 1960s and 1970s in the United States.
This image is apart of Adams’ What We Bought series. This series continues to examine the change in dynamic between the built and natural environments in the same era and location as The New West, but with a focus on consumption and the landscape.
Robert Adams is an American photographer who has spent most of his career photographing the social and environmental transformation of the land. He is best known for his book The New West and for his inclusion in The New Topographics: Photographs of a Man-Altered Landscape.
